Probably should have posted it on the Exhaust section, but want bagger owners opinions. Now, I know theres a lot of Pro Rinehart fans,,,as well as Anti Rinehart people.. Dont want to get into that. I am curious as to those with like a FatCat 2-1, Bassani Road Rage 2-1, Thunderheader 2-1, maybe a VH duals with Thunderheader setup, etc as to weather they have any discoloration or rust problems with any of them? Should they stay looking good with a proper tune? I see so many that are blue or yellow or rusty...especially 2-1's.
My delima is this. Put on the Rinehart duals(new style) on the 06 SG. Great power with a sert tune. 77.5 / 82.5 tq. Had a hell of a time getting the muffs to tighten up to the head pipes and stay tight. Well, had what I though was a knock in my motor yesterday. Tracked it down to something in the exhaust. Put foot under the joint where the left muff is clamped on and I got some movement there a little and it quit knocking and rattling. Was late and dark, so will look at it better later. May just need adjusted and tightened. Seems I cant get them tight enough.
Lastly, since the installation of the Rineharts, I have wondered while people say they are loud? While on the bike, you dont hear much from the exhaust at all. Behind the bike may be different, but you dont hear it much on the bike. I actually think I could use an exhaust alot louder myself. Slightly discouraged with the Rineharts and considering the above mentioned systems but am leary of discoloration etc after I see so many of them looking like crap.
Any thoughts or comments? Just wanted to vent...lol
I'm sure you're seen me say FatCat enough to know my opinion. I've had many 2into1 Bagger pipes ~ FatCat(s), ThunderHeader, ProPipe(s), WhiteBros E-Series..... Never had a RoadRage...
From a manufacturing "quality" perspective, I'd rank them:
FatCat
SuperTrapp
Bassani
ProPipe
ThunderHeader
E-Series
Having said that... the next guy will have an entirely different opinion. Best bet is to Rank your requirements/preferences and research based on that. Then when YOU decide what ya want... forget what others say!
Just put the Rineharts true dual on mine, I was able to get the numbers up where I wanted them on the dyno. But I must agree they aren't loud and I am a little disapointed in that.
Thanks Phil for the insight. Just tossing ideas around and considering some options. Will take my time this time and listen and look around first. Was in a hurry to get something on my "stocker" so I could go to bike week. Cant knock the Rineharts on mine . Seemed decent on numbers etc.. Not so sure they are loud enough for me either... And its just one of those things that when you are over it you are over it...you know? Regardless how good they are or arent, you just have to feel good about it or it aint worth it. Add to that that I am super picky, and that doesnt help either..lol

Glad to see its not just me. Maybe these new ones are quieter than the old ones? From what I read, I was expecting pretty loud. I was disappointed too in the sound level. Hard to please everyone I know....plus the ol lady swears I am deaf...but they sure seem quiet to me too...
If you are like me. I research the hell out of something, and after the purchase, always a little dissapointed. You have to admit, the wanting something else is what its all about. I hope the ol lady dont see this.
My Rineharts are in town and will be delivered tomorrow. On the dyno on friday.

Dude...that exactly right...!!! The ol lady already knows that how I am..
Hours reaserching and it never seems to be exactly what I want.. Let us know how your dyno comes out and what YOUR impressions are!
At 100hp thunderheaders are too loud on a bagger - and blue badly - i'm going to remove mine and put on a ss supertrapp muffler and leave TH head pipes...$167 at Summit + 1ft ss ext and 2 clamps...Planning on doing both bikes...
I have seen several Fatcats in person, and the chrome plating on them is second to none. They are absolutely beautiful. A bud of mine rides a 116" dyna that has a Fatcat and it looks just like the day he put it on. I must say, the Fatcat has a sound all it's own......and it might just be growing on me........
