RC Wheels
After doing a search on here and finding the corrosion in my RC wheels, I now know why its hard to find anyone who does buy them.
I had a problem getting a tire to bead onto the wheel and hold air so I had to resort to an inner tube. In less than a month, the flaking chrome from the inside of the RC wheel cut the inner tube causing the tire to go flat while riding. With the tire off the wheel, I can see more corrosion in the wheel. I did a lot of grinding on it to clean away the rust and flaking chrome then coated it with Rustoleum to hopefully arrest the rusting.
RC Wheels, what junk.
The other part about RC is contacting them. Yeah, right. Apparently my emails have been going into the dust bin. I've sent a few messages to them using the contact email address on their web page, but I guess, once they have their money, screw the customer.
Or maybe I'm supposed to be changing these wheels out every couple years so I don't have corrosion problems like this. I bought the wheels in 2009 with a Fat Bagger wide tire kit. Either way, at this point, screw RC.
The pictures show some of the grinding I had to do to clean up the bead.
The last picture is the Rustoleum on the bead.

I would be suspicious of everything they market. If there is a way they could be screwed up, I'm sure RC wouldn't correct it and their customer support isn't there. Screw RC.
I got a response from RC. They offered to rechrome the wheel which is one of their warranty offerings. Their warranty for the chrome is actually good for seven years. Since I just fixed the wheel myself, I'll hold off on sending it in until next winter.
