Default Bagger Frames

What differences in frames, if any, are therebetween the different touring models?

I'mmaking an assumption that all of the different touring models (RKs, Ultras, Glides, etc)have basically thesame frame with the obvious differences in the "bolt on" stuff like fenders and bags. The true question concerns taking a basic touring frame and making it into another variation of the touring line...

Youre right, there are some differences from some of the years, up to 97 then to 01 had a few changes but if you mean same year, then ultra, roadglide, classic, standard, roadking, street glide all have same frame/motor/trans/front end. Basic difference between models is add ons and sheetmetal and wiring harness (ultra and other radio models differ from road king models)

i concur w/ gunrunner...
since late 90's and 00 to present the frames are the same. I have an 01 that was a EG then a RK now an EG again. even the SG and RG are the same except for bolt on stuff. But the frame in all is the same frame.

In '96 for the '97 model yearwas the last time they really changed the frames. '96's were about an inch taller, that's why I've got a like-new Mustang Regal that I can't use on my new one. '02's got a beefier swingarm pivot. Yes the FLH/FLT have the same frames within these years.

There has to be some difference if a 2007 RK Classic seat will not fit a 2007 RK Custom! At least that's what a couple of seat vendors have told me?????

The difference isn't in the frame, it's in the fit of the seat to the dash.

Sometime between 01 and 06 HD did a change to the swing arm on the EG's
The axle is thicker and they now use cams to set belt tension, where before
they were set with individual adjusting screws.
To check neck rake, go to harbor freight. Buy a $6.00 magnetic angle finder.
Wheel straight ahead lay on front of fork. NO this is NOT EXACT but close enough.
Then next time you have fairing off, do same on front of steering neck.
There will probably be a two or three degree difference.
