I have read many threads regarding best over all gear cams for a 96" engine and Concluded to the following
1. Andrews 26 (g)
2. S&S 510g
Some say that the S&S 510g power comes at 2800 rpm about.
For the Andrews 26 they say that power comes fm 2000 rpm and give some additional hp compared with the 510g.
I don't know about noise and reliability issues for the above said.
Except the Vance and Hines exhausts, K&N filter and PCIII everything else is stock - just want to add the gear cams.
Which one of the two above anybody believes that it is a better all around cam (2 up and best performance) for the 2007 street glide?
You need to verify crankshaft run out before doing anything else, my 2001 has the timkin bearings so it was not an issue but the newer engines have greater tolerances and may be fine for chain but not gear, after that people complain about the noise, I don't notice it, I had the S&S 583 easy start gear drive cams installed with the SE103" kit and love knowing that I won't have to worry about anything in the cam chest for a very long time
I have Andrews 26h cams in my 07 and if I had to go it Again i would. Go with 48h. Yes the 26 pulls good but from what I have read the 48 pulls a bit better. No sure I would go with geared cams....
After reading many threads I am going to install the S&S 551 Cams and adjustable pushrods (however I am thinking also for the 570 since I may go with a 106 kit nex year)
However I am not sure if I should go with gear or chain since most say that gear cams are usually installed in pre 2007 models - any opinion?
My concern is that I do not wish to install a cam which will create problems in the future.
My Street glide has 23.000 KM.
As mentioned in my last except the Vance and Hines exhausts - S&S headers, S&S Stelth air cleaner and PCIII everything else is stock.

Well that took quite a while... LOL! I have the 551's and love them. I think you will too. You have the new style tensioners, go with chain, and if you want ( and I recommend ) easy starts, which are awesome.
