Went for a 300 mile ride yesterday in 90+ temps. When in stop and go traffic at construction sites it was miserable but when moving at a reasonable pace I was fine on the upper half of my body but the lower half was still cooking. I wear sweat wicking shirts with jeans. What do you guys suggest in place of jeans to keep cooler (and please don't say shorts or I'll know you're not a "real biker")
You must be getting a breeze off the Gulf still. You are usually up to 105ş by now. We've hit 103ş already. I've gone to Duluth light tan flex firehose pants. They seem to be a lot cooler than jeans. Swamp butt not near as bad.
This time of year, I just don't care to ride very much. July, August, and Sept are just too damn hot. I'll ride all day when it's freezing. Heated gear and the right helmet and clothes make it feel good. In the heat, you just can't do a lot to keep cool. I'm lucky enough to have a pool and a boat and would much rather be using them now and save the bike for the other 9 months.
It's only been to 100 here in South Texas, not hot yet.
damn right lol we r just now getting started.. I know I'm gonna sweat my *** up wen I ride so I dnt go anywhere too important.. I wear under Armour boxers that r kinda long.. but they hold all the tidbits together and then I apply the baby powder.. the equate brand at Walmart is like 92cents.. it won't stop the beads rolling from your back to ur *** crack but it will keep ur as fresher longer.. I throw it in my feet too.. most of the time im hypoallergenic with aloe and vitamin e lmao
