Default Should I keep the bumper??

Should I loose the bumper on the front fender? The more I look at it kind of gives it own look. What do you think. After I saw the street glide I new I had to throw on those part that I have been collecting.

To each his own, I guess...but since you asked, I like the bumper. I'd leave it on. I think it's part of the character of the bike.

I personnally dont like the bumper. IMHO theres nothing like the clean look of the fender without the bumpers. I probably would sell mine cheap if anyones interested.

I had my front and rear bumpers off the second day I had the bike. I would take the chrome side strips and the front light off if it wouldn't leave holes.

Keep in mind that you have to remove the front tire to get the front bumper off. There is a locking tab that you can only get to with the tire off. The rear is no problem.

Regards,

Bill

Bill, I removed my bumper and did not remove the wheel.
I had to take it off to put in a chrome insert.

Yours must be different than mine. On mine there was a tab that folded down on the bolt flats that hold the fender and bumper. I had to raise that tab up with a punch and hammer before I could get a socket on the bolts.

Bill

Mark,

I just checked the service manual, and its specifies that the wheel has to be removed to get the fender bolts out, and it is the front fender bolts that hold the bumper. They must have forgotten to put that locking tab on yours at the factory, or maybe it is the difference between a 2003 and a 2005.

Regards,

Bill
