every time i try to start the bike it makes a couple revolutions and then it stops. if i try to start again it will just spin the motor with out trying to start at all. turn ignition key off and back on then hit the start button it will fire right up. this just started while riding in pa all day yesterday. every time i went to start the bike it would make a couple revolutions then stop so everytime i would turn ignition key off then back on hit start and it would fire right up. a couple times i seen a engine service light come on but when i shut bike off and got started again it would go out. going to check for stored codes this mourning. battery voltage seems to be good. i believe from the ecm signals the bcm reads voltage for every function being made. so i am wondering if the bcm is not seeing the correct voltage initially. i am looking for suggestions from the guys that understand this electrical system. i have never taken a bike back to a dealer so thats not the answer for me.
On the first try, are you letting up on the start switch when you refer to it stopping cranking? If you let up too soon before it gets completely started and then hit it again, they seem to have trouble starting. Not really sure if it causes them to get too much gas or just not enough. Next time it does it, do the start again without key off but open throttle just a very small amount. However I could be totally out of the park with your throttle by wire system. Have you read manual on starting completely including the cold and hot follow thru? I always want to know if I'm doing something wrong before I ask them to service.

Really You buy a Harley Davidson a 2014 it has a Warranty (for a reason) and you don't use it . Tell me you didn't pay for an Extend Warranty also .

i have never used a warranty on any vehicle i have ever owned because i take pride in fixing every thing myself then i know what i have. i work on my own vehicles period. besides that i have changed so much on this bike myself i dont need the crap the dealers have to offer because it is not a stock bike or one that they have customized for twice the money.

no i am not letting up on the ignition switch. i just went out to see if a cold start would be any different and it is not. when the starter stops and i hit the starter button again it will just crank over and will not start. turn ignition key off then back on hit start button it fires right up as i stated in the first post.

Since it cranks on the second try, I would not think anything stock. If by chance , it would not crank on the second try, it could be the signal light or signal light/alarm (TSM/TSSM) which has the bank angle switch which if bike is dropped or it goes bad requires a key on/off to reset. I would suspect your add on tuner. Can you jump it out and try? http://www.thunder-max.com/techdocs/...g.pdf#view=fit
