I have a buddy that has an 04' Ultra stalls out or won't start and is throwing a P0118 Engine Temp Sensor Open/High, dealer seems to be giving him the run around with the it could be this, it could be that, give us all your money and we might fix it deal. Anyone have any experience with this? He has had his whole fuel supply side of the house up graded because of this same issue, but no code at the time, just the stalling and non-starts.

is he running a fuel management system? Fuel Pak or similar?

 

It's a cheap part. Pretty easy to replace too. Part no: 32446-99 $37.93.

Since that is the code he's getting, it might be wise to just replace it on his own and go from there...
