Hey all, I have an '09 S/G with 13,000 miles. Has a dealer installed 103, heavy breather and slip on mufflers.

Within the past few weeks (randomly) when I went to start it, nothing would happen--almost as if no power was going to the ignition switch. Then after about 5 secs of waiting, it would have power and turn over. As per my normal routine:

-ignition switch on handle bars to 'run'
-switch on dash to 'ignition'
-neutral
-push 'start' and nothing whatsoever

It's happened about 5 times in total.

Any ideas?

Possible ignition switch issue or possible start button issue. My 08 used to do that quite a bit. Replaced the ignition switch and seemed to have fixed the problem.

 

thanks dawg, I guess ill try the ignition switch first--hopefully the problem will end there.
