Default V & h

Hi and greetings from Cambridge, UK. i recently bought a 2011 Road King. The bike has had a Stage 1 and came fitted with Twin Slash Round Slip-Ons. The bike sounds pretty anaemic at best although louder than stock. So I have a question that I hope some of you can help with. Would the bike sound better if I had a different slip-ons like Monster Ovals for example. Thanks for listening.

Page down a little on the link and you can hear/see videos of what all of the different V&H pipes sound like.

Love the link with the sound clips, but is it me or are they missing the combination of Dresser Duals with High Output slip ons? If anyone has a clip of that combo on a '14 SGS I would appreciate hearing them! Thanks!

Do you have the stock headers? or after market? I see you say stage 1 but what does your stage1 consist of? air cleaner? headers? some think a cam change is part of a stage 1? what tuner? Sound is so subjective from person to person. Go to bike night, or any other bike event, when someone has the sound your looking for go talk to them, see what set up they have. I am sure you already know, but you will get different tones with different headers, stock, true duals, crossover. There are many factors that may change the tone of the mufflers you are asking about. Good luck and ride safe.

Hi again and thanks to all for the replies and apologies in the delay in replying from my side. I am going to get some more holes drilled into the baffle as a first solution and then see where to go from there. My previous bike was a Softail Deluxe which had a V & H Big Radius exhaust and stage 1 and that had the sound I am looking for.
All the best,
Mike

Sounds like you just solved your problem. Replace your exhaust system with V&H Big Radius 2 into 2 pipes. They'll work on a Road King.

I have V&H Power Duals and Monster Ovals (with A/C of course and PV map from Jamie at Fuel Moto) and I love them. True Duals would probably do the same, but I like the look of the Power Duals. They sound Deep and have a nice tuned rumble. Also not too loud at cruising speeds for the radio if you get a fairing bike. The only downfall is they have a louder than normal "grumble" on Decel. No popping really just more than average grumble. I tried to tune it out with my PV, but no go.
