I just got my Wild 1 518's in today. I got them from Zanotti's for $151 and about $24 for shipping. Will be putting them on as soon as I get a few more accessories in.The stock bars on my RKC were okay for short runs but with a 5,000 mile trip planned for the summer I needed something a little bit closer. Their site says you can use stock cables but I wanted the braided look so I went with Magnum's Sterling Chromite. Can't wait to get started!

$151 for 518's, that's the cheapest price I've seen anywhere, thanks Jeff. I'll pass the info on, I have a coupleof friends looking for them, that were all set to get them off of ebay. Do you have the website address for them?
I also need to bring the stock bars back a little. I was dissappointed to learn it wasn't as simple as it should be. You have to remove the nachelle to access the pinch bolts. My dealer did say they would do it for me the next time I took the bike in. Really it should be part of the set up ( especially for what they charge ) to get the bars fitted to the rider. I don't need them brought back much, maybe an inch. ....CJ
During ownership of my '03 Anniversary Road King Classic I had 3 sets of bars, in addition to the stock bars.
1st=Heritage bars...stock cables and brake lines.
2nd=Road King "pull back touring tall bars"...stock cables and brake lines.
3rd=White Bros. wide "beach bars"...SS cables and brake lines.
None of the 4 (if you include the stock ones) were a perfect fit.
1=Heritage bars too close together.
2=RK "touring" looked funny angled back for my reach.
3=White Bros. "beach bars" looked real cool...but at almost 39" wide, they would wear me out after a long ride.
4=Stock RK bars will leave your back sore as hell if your not a tall man with a long reach.
Then I sat on a Road King Custom in 2004...and I was all in! Bought it on the spot!!! The reason I'm buying another RK Custom. I had sellers remorse from selling the '04 and I'm really looking forward to my '07 Custom...Is it June yet???
I added FXRP police bars, a 10.5" rise and used existing cables. Three years later I added the Wild One 16" rise Apes and Russell ss cables. Wish I could have had those from day one! Like having power steering!
12 inch apes are going on my 07 next week. it aint a cheep process tho, lol. I'll be at about 800 out the door with braided cables and internal wiring. But I got to sit on a bike at the shop with the exact setup and it did it for me. Perfect!
Stock bars were hitting my knees so I moved them up and away from me but now they lean me forward, i cant wait to get a good laidback cruising posture going!
I put heritage classic bars on my 07 Road King. Theycost $50 or soat the local dealership and only took about 1.5 hours to change out. I think if you take it to the dealer to change, they will charge you 3 hours labor = to $65 an hour. I even kept the stock grips. You do not need to change cables. Just remember, before you tighten the two bolts that hold the bar down, make sure you adjust them to you.
Here is the Zanotti's website. By the way I had a little trouble odering them online. Seems the Custom Chrome (the catalog I ordered from) had the wrong prices listed. So I guess they hadall part numbers from that cataloge disabled.So I phoned them and the guy gave me a different price (lower) than what was listed online. Zanotti's did a good job, I had ordered from Chicago HD before with less than satisfactory results. Zanotti's will get my business from now on. Here is their address: http://www.zanottimotor.com/
