Doesn't make sense does it. I sweat bullets when I use one of my Bell Custom 500's. It must have something to do with the lining. I feel much drier with my Biltwell Gringo or Bell Revolver Evo modular helmet on. Not to mention that in Florida thunderstorms strike without warning and that Bell full face modular is extremely comfortable in any weather condition

I'm born and raised in The Great State of Florida so I rode without a helmet for as long as I can remember and then my friends and I started having kids and suddenly safety mattered. I love 3/4 helmets but I always wear the bell modular for long trips an bad in bad weather..

Go buy one

I wore a FF, my first 8 years. Still do in cold weather. Usually wear a Bell 500 now.

Might want to consider a motorcross or ADV type full face as well. The chin bar is further away, so you don't have to enjoy your own breath and they are far less hot typically.

A helmet liner or dorag can also help. I've taken to wearing my cheap Bilt brand "heat-out" liner quite regularly. To my surprise, it really does work. I'm far more comfortable in the helmet wearing it than if I do not wear it.

Personally, I've been wearing a Nolan N43 Air (not the US Trilogy). It's a very well vented helmet. I don't get the wind tunnel through the hair that webbikeworld raved about in their review, but also don't get sweat running down my face either.

.
Problem with that is those helmets catch more air coming from the tank area creating more buffet on the head. A rider gets less buffet with a 3/4 helmet than a FF. That being said, I wear a FF 100% of the time.

I used to never wear a helmet and I loved it too. Not required in my state. But I have two daughters that always commented on it and used to plead with me to wear one. I would usually ride off without it and feel guilty all day. Then I realized that I was being pretty selfish! I don't wear one for me....I wear it for them.

I have to settle with a 3/4 with this heat... I shave my head and it makes perspiration even worse... I have to have some ventilation....

Never had anyone criticize my helmet or lack thereof. Sometimes I wear a 1/2, sometimes a 3/4, sometimes none at all. Just depends on mood and weather and all that. I won't wear a full, not because I ride a Harley, I just haven't found a full that I feel comfortable in. Like a previous poster, I have terrible year round allergy/sinus problems and as a result I have to cough crap up and such. A full face is a detriment in that area but what is much harder for me is just the claustrophobic feeling I get in a FF helmet. I haven't been able to get past that feeling yet so I stick with my 1/2 and 3/4.

A little off topic here but a few years ago I thought I would try a modular. Couldn't find one that I could get past my ears. Are there any options out there for those of us with 3 or 4 xl long oval head heads?

Found this site a couple of days ago that covers just about all the information you could want and probably a lot more concerning helmets.
