i just bought a gmax gm65 of this design for my trip to TN next week. no feedback yet other than it fits and was cheap. reviews were decent enough for me to buy it.
I use one but be careful on what type of glasses you wear. If they are large or stick out too far from your face it will interfere with the shield operation. Once you get that figured out you will like it. I no longer have to worry about remembering to bring my clears. I just remove my sunglasses and flip down the shield.
I use a Gmax GM55 and love it. I think the GM55 has been discontinued now and replaced with the GM65. it's comfortable, great if you get caught in the rain and you can't beat the price.
I've used the 1/2 with visor and they didn't work well for me. The 1/2s move around too much. I went with a 3/4 with dual visor (full size clear and eye level smoked) and I like it.
At my local stealer I got one on sale a few years back and its still sitting in my garage because I don't use it. I don't wear glasses but if you prefer half helmets and have to wear glasses I think you would like the feel of it when riding. My biggest problem with it was it kept riding back on my head riding at higher speeds but I wear a XXL so admittedly my big melon may have been part of the problem. I tried taking the little black plastic sun visor off but it seemed to still catch a lot of air in the front when the tinted sunvisor was pulled down. I am deaf in one ear and tinnitus in both so my opinion of half helmets is not great because they add to hearing discomfort for me.
I was a bit concerned that the plastic pull down would do some wicked damage to my nose even in a slow speed spill because if it bound rather than pushed back into the helmet it is trimmed see through plastic. You could probably prevent that with a strip of adhesive rubber trim but you'd have to get used to it being at the bottom of your field of view. The nice part is you can push the sunvisor up into the helmet easy enough when riding if your at slower speeds like in city traffic then pull it down at higher speeds.
Also im wondering if the tint on the shield is dark enough!!
I only live about 30 minutes from J&P cycles so im going to run up there tomorrow
and look at a couple!!!
I bought one of the Scorpion EXO-110's a few years back.................I have been happy with it. It fits good, works well in the rain, my glasses dont interfere with the shield, and isnt too awful heavy. The flip down shield is interchangeable.............They offer a tinted, clear, and a yellow
