Default adding a tour pack........

Been wanting a tour pack for awhile, but wasn't wanting to pay the ridiculous prices folks always want for them. Was about to pull the trigger on a Mutazu one, when I ran across this one on Craigslist. It needs a latch replaced, but otherwise is in good shape. I think the price was decent too at $350. It's off a 2010 bike, so I had to drill new holes in it to mount it on my older style removable rack. I'm gonna make my own bracket to move it back a little further so the wife has a bit more room. I'd like to find a better looking light bar for it before I get it painted to match the bike, along with the new lowers. I'll also need to figure out how to wire it into my tail lights and such, and get the speakers tied into my radio. It came with keys too, but I'll probably change the lock set to one that matches the bike. The wife always said she thought it looked cramped being tucked in with a tour pack, but a quick ride last night and she's sold on it.

I added a tour pack last winter, along with the road zepplin seat. My main goal was to try to make my wife more comfortable so she would want to ride more miles between stops.

She is really liking it and has doubled the miles she wants to ride without a break. I have taken two solo trips since I've had the tour pack and I really like the extra, lockable storage.

I added a tour pack and was looking to wire in the lights, tucked under my left side panel I found a harness that was for the tour pack lights.

Harley sells an ultra harness, not sure about road kings or your year though?

If you have an after market head unit in your fairing you could just run speaker wires from the radio back under the tank and make both end quick detach if you still remove your fairing?

On road glides and street glides the wires for the tour pack lights are under the panel were the fuse block is, zip tied behind it.

I'm not sure how big of a hole your stock tour pack lights will have after you remove them but I use the cheap eBay style CVO LED tail lights and they have been flawless for years. They are brighter than the 2013 an older harley style CVO lights but not as bright as the stock 2014 ultra lights. I also used tinted Ebay LED side marker lights and not one LED burnt out.

my tour pak sat in the garage for years; bought an air zep seat a couple months ago and thought I'd mount the tour pak at the same time and see how I liked both changes. I haven't removed either yet.
