Is it me just getting older and less patience or there more and more new tailgaters out there?
Always been a pet-peeve of mine even in the cage. Now I normally do over the speed limit but when confronted with a tailgater I normally slow down.
On the bike, a tailgater is putting my body and life in grave danger. So I slow down, not only for revenge, but if they do rear end me, it will be at a slower speed, equaling less damage to me. Or so the thinking goes.
Today I had what appeared to be a 20 year old male behind me. I was doing 30 in a 35. So close to me was he that I could hear the exhaust echo on the front end. Slowed down in steps down to 20 or so and he never backed off.
Buddy I know, carries ball bearings in the windshield bags...... that is a little extreme to me.
End of rant. Just part of getting older and crabbier I would assume.
Utah passed a law to deal with passive aggressive drivers like you. In Utah you would get a ticket for not speeding up or moving over.
I have the led and bal brake light that flashes if i get tailgater (which I hate) I will start with one flash of the Brakelight and if that doesn't make him backoff a little I will start pumping that brake there isn't many people that can stand that flashing in there eyes.
I use Radiantz strobe LED tail lamps on my Tri Glide. If that does not work I just wave them around and give them the WTF look. Usually I am next to them at the next light. You really can't get anywhere fast here in South East PA.
I will usually turn around and give them the WTF look, get off my ***! Its always better to get out of the way and lets these a holes go by. My wife and I were out and came across an A hole zipping all over, riding my *** and I almost lost it but with the wife on the back I moved over and let him by. If I was by myself I am certain I would have rode to his door and told him what I think, thankfully my better half calms me down.
Flip a paint ball up over you head,,,now that would Pi$$ them off! Best idea is to move over and let them pass even if your doing over the limit. There are laws on the books in most states which are posted on prima facie signs, "slower traffic keep right" however seldom enforced by our LEOs. Mainly because they are stuck behind in the same traffic. There are enough risk out there while ridding and there is no sense in creating more for you or your passenger.
I had a guy this morning on my butt that close too. Older guy too. Its a little scary and unnerving of people to do that to a bike. Hate that as well. Be respectable toward other people.
