My wife, who rides a FXDL, took a short ride with me the other day on my FLHTCI. She she is rather small, at 5'4", 135 #. She stated the tour-pak back rest seemed too confining with the "wings" along side, plus with my riders backrest, she felt very confined. I checked out the mounting brackets, and don't see anyway to adjust it backwards. Has anyone moved the tour-pak back, and if so, how did you do it ? She may never ride behind me again, since she rides her own, but someday someone may want a ride, and I'd like them to feel comfy
Yes, its usually the first thing I do. You dont say what year bike you have but I think my 09 had some holes built in the tour pack bars underneath for movement but I know on other years I've had I usually bought THIS.
You can install the tour pack relocation kit from HD or wherever else. I used the HD one, on my 07 Ultra, which allowed the TP to move back 3 inches. The problem is when I moved it back all the way, my wife complained about her calves being against the crash bars in front of the side bags. Because of that I could only move it back about an inch to maintain her comfort. Not as good as it could have been, but better than stock.

That's the problem, especially for passengers with shorter legs. But the passenger footboards can be raised, or you can get higher mounts, or the Kuryakyn highway pegs, which may help. It's all interrelated geometry, and can take some trial and error to find what works best. Hopefully something will work well enough.
+1 on George Anderson. Solid one piece machined unit that is powder coated. Great guy.. Talked to him on phone while he was vacationing in Florida. Shipped product prior to receiving payment, check only. Worth the money to me.
FIGURED HELPING THE LITTLE GUY WAS WORTH THE EXTRA BUCK!
