Picked up my '07 Ultra - POSE this morning at the dealer. I am very impressed with the 96 motor. Last EG I had was a 99 Classic and before that an 89 FLHTP. The 99 was the first year of injection if I'm not mistaken and I hated it (injection), very rough seemed crude.
Anyway, this bike is rock steadyand thetranny felt good in all 6 gears, only 50 mileson it so far. Not sure but the motor seemed a little tinny sounding, but I chalk this up to breakin oil and stock mufflers, anyone chime in here? Again only 50 miles on her. Also, my S/O noticed exhaust mostly out of the right pipe, on inspection the left was a little cooler after shutdown than the right, but the header pipes and jugs were both HOT (same) and placing my hand over the ends (pipes), both seemed to be pushing the same amount of gas. I told her I wasn't concerned. All in all with only 50 miles I am, to say the least very impressed with this Mcy and H-D.
BTW, dealer was fantastic.
Gotta go ride somemore...calling for snow showers!
on stock touring exhaust 70% of the exhaust exits on the right side pipe and only 30% out the left, hence the crossover pipe on the rear head. True dulas will make 50/50 mix as each cylinder has its own exhaust.
Just wanted to say 1997 FLHTCUI was the first year for Fuel Injection have the Brochure here for 1997 and it says Carburetor or Sequential Port Fuel Injection (SPF)
Nice ride the Ultra.
