The threads in the bung look ok but maybe a little dirty.

Does anyone know what size the large sensors threads are so I can go buy a die for the bung tomorrow? I figure that I already have to go buy a new o2 sensor so the cheap price I am getting on the coating is going to now negated by the sensor.
14mm or 18mm the same as spark plugs, and you can take it to a Muffler shop and he can weld in a new bung if its pooched

I think the 18mm bungs are for wide band O2 sensors used for the more advanced auto tuning options. Stock headers only have the 12mm bungs.

Yep that's the best way to take care of the problem.

Up until the 2010 models, the headers used an 18mm O2 sensor close to the exhaust port. In 2010 they went to a 12mm sensor located near the transmission.

^^^ Thanks for that, useful fact. Were the pre-2010 18mm sensors wide band or just a different design? Just curious.
