Engine noise/ compensator question
2012 RK with just under 12,000 miles now. Developed a "ticking/ light thunking" noise on the primary side about 4,000 miles and assumed it was normal from all the information I could gather. About the last 500 miles seems to be louder and the transmission shift is not as smooth as it used to be. After riding home from work the other night (38 miles highway - 90 degree's temp) I let it idle and decided to go listening with my trusty broom handle to ear listening device - found - heads nice and quiet, cam chest nice and quiet, lower end of engine nice and quiet - primary - thunking on compensator end, same on clutch end but quieter than compensator end - also found thunking on clutch cable cover on opposite side of bike - stealer is worthless and don't know any trustworthy indies - thoughts/ comments?? (yes, I know this is a forum, needs to be listened to in person - just wanting some constructive comments from others experiences) - thanks!
