To give an idea....the pic posted by davidwruth.....when looking at pic, speaker on right side. Diagonally down and right, you can see the bolt hole of the fairing in that pic. Thanks for posting that davidwruth.

Take a small washer and using gorilla glue, glue it to the inside of the inner fairing. Take some sandpaper and rough up the plastic first.

The gorilla glue tends to expand so you may have to grind or sand off some excess after it dries.

I'd take the fairing off, and get creative with some JB Weld Plastic epoxy on the broken ear of the inner fairing.

I did the same thing once. What happened is you sucked the bolt through the plastic. So get a windshield bolt because they have washers on them. Screw that bolt in. They will prevent the bolt from falling through. If you didn't pull the bottle through then I don't have an answer for you.

Put a washer and a longer bolt. Maybe a stainless steel so at least maybe you can polish it. Or put one of those chrome plastic bolt covers on it.
Probly want to do the same to the other side so they match..

Can you tell me what you mean by pull the bottle through? And are you talking about one of the three windshield bolts? If it's that easy I'm gonna have to admit how much of a dum@@ss I am! Thanks for the advice.
For those wondering, pics just won't show what I'm talking about. I'm hoping I'm explaining it right. These forums are life savers for my bike and sanity!

i would take a washer and grind it down until i could just get it in there and the JB weld it in place. then you can run a drill bit though the hole to clean out any of the JB weld and file down the inside to make it fit good. you would most likley need a longer screw. hope this makes sense.

I am attaching a pic from flea bay of an inner fairing. I assume you are talking about the brass insert on the left side, middle of the pic. If that is the one you are talking about, I refer you to my earlier post, HD makes brass inserts that you can screw in to replace the stripped one. Hope this helps. Its small, so use photoshop or something to make it bigger so you can see.

EDIT: I attached a bigger pic. If you notice the 2 mounts by the headlight and the mounts on the upper part on each side (4 holes with brass inserts) You prolly stripped one of those out. Is this what you was talking about? If it is, here is an ebay link so you can see what you need to fix it. Good luck man.

If I'm not mistake he's talking about one of the two hex nuts that are attached to the outer fairing. Not the brass inserts that have a habit of stripping or coming out. The screws I think he means go through the inner fairing just below the R&L Front Speakers and then thread into the Nuts on the outer fairing.

Looked it up on Ronnie's and if I'm not mistaken its the Nut Extension Item #9 on the drawing. It would appear the nut has threaded male end that screws into what I would expect to be one of the brass inserts located in the back of the outer fairing. I would think the insert is loose and should be removed and a new insert threaded in. Other option would be to use some JB Weld, plastic steal or some kind of epoxy to secure the loose insert to the fairing.

Like I said, didn't crack or break anything else. Just small circular plastic piece molded into inner fairing bolt hole to hold bolt head. I'll take some pics in a little bit to show location, but can't really see damage. Just can't put fairing together properly like this.
I did this once also. Just use a washer that fits snug in the recess and just snug the bolt, don't go crazy tightening it down. I also like the idea of the windshield bolt.
