On my 07 Ultra, with a tall boy seat I used the HD adjustable back rest and it worked great for me. I am 6'2" and the adjustable back rest allowed for having it in different positions depending on how much support or pressure I wanted, adding to ride comfort.
The standard HD backrests from HD work well and about the same price as elsewhere.
The adjustable one I have on the Tallboy set on my 07 Ultra as well. HD claims it will not work, but I drilled new holes and welded a bracket on to make it work. Only draw down is the seat will not fold all the way forward due to the height of the tallboy seat.
