2008 Ultra Map New Vance & Hines Monster Ovals?
Replacing the stock pipes with Vance & Hines Monster Ovals Slip-ons and was just planning on having the dealership put in a new map. Dealership suggesting a stage one update at $875 plus air-filter saying the map may cause the Vance & Hine MOs to backfire. At this point not planning on getting the stage one. Any thoughts?

just swap the pipes if that's what you want.
the catalytic converter in the header is the bottleneck to flow on the exhaust, the stock intake is a bottleneck at the intake.
so with your new mufflers the net flow will be about the same.
of course the Dealer staff will differ, typically they work on commission ( even the service writers).
cheep guys like me have $300~$400 stage 1's...drop it at the dealer and stage 1 at full retail may run $2000
