Rush, do you still offer the ride on us program? 10 day full refund if I don't like the pipes?
Thanks,
SJ

Still can't figure out how the coating can make it cooler. Carbon is a great insulator but even carbon will allow heat to penetrate after prolonged exposure.

I'd have to witness a test of two identical pipes, one coated and one not with a heat source blowing into them with a fixed temp and velocity using thermocouples to sense the exterior of the pipes. If you're comparing header pipes with and without cat converters or Dyno or auto tuned vs stock lean, well....

We ended the Ride on Us program. We still stand behind our products 100% should there be any fit or finish issues!

I have a laser temp gun coming in the mail today. I'm going to get some numbers off my stock (cat removed) head pipe. Then if I can get others to do that we can do an unscientific comparison. Heck, I'm going to carry the darn thing with me and see if I can get some numbers from bikes that have coated pipes.

I have contacted a few of the coated pipe companies asking for before and after numbers, all say they don't collect that data. They do say it should be somewhere between 300 and 400 degree reduction. That just seems so hard to swallow.
There isn't a lot of heat... If I'm understanding your question correctly.... But of course, that's due to the heat shield itself. Which also has lost significant coloring from the heat. (Right side) I don't even want to know what the heat would be like without the shield.....lol.

Well I just pulled the triger and ordered Rush True Duals mainly for the ceramic coating. I got myself a infared temp gun, but really can't reproduce consistent temp readings. Those temp guns are very touchy, just aim a touch this way or that and you can get a reading as much as 100 degrees different.

When the new pipes get here I'll try and get some numbers off them to compare. Rush is claiming as much as 300 degree drop, I'll b very happy if I get 100 degree drop.

Ok, I have the Rush Ture Duals with cermaic coating installed. First thing is the increase of exhaust sound. I was running a de-catted stock head pipe with wild pig slip on's. I need to pull the baffles out and wrap them to settle the sound down.

One large complant is the placement of the rear pipe heat sheild center hose clamp. It is to close to the trany cover and just can't be installed no matter which way I tried. Hey Rush, if your reading this how about you trade me a rear shield with the clamp located in a better spot?

Now for the praise. Rush has done a great job with the coating and reduceing heat. I took many reading with the stock pipe and got as high as 570 degrees. Now these infared temp guns aren't the best for this task. New Rush pipe only got up to 364 degrees at best. I'd sure call that a win in my book. I was really hoping to get maybe a 100 degree reduction

So if your looking to reduce heat coming off the pipe the Rush True Duals will work.

I "thread" the clamps before I put them on. Put them in, but don't let the tag end of the clamp stick past the chrome, gently "open" the gear end to fit over the pipe, then work them around.

I've got Rush ceramic coated headers as well. Noticed a huge difference. Even the wife has noticed and commented on the improvement.

Did you remove a cat equipped header?

A thermal imaging camera would show the temp differences well. Rush could use those for advertising. Same goes for the engine cooling fans.
