My 97 RK reborn...
I'll try to keep it short. 10 yrs ago, my dad and I came across an Oklahoma bike that had to be brought home. Now I don't have any pictures of it 10 years ago because I joined the military after high school and was never home.
All these years, I've told myself I would bring it to my current residence at that time but I never have. I got caught up in life with my wife, 2 beautiful girls, a house and my carreer.
Fast forward... I recently went on a detachment for a week. When I came back home, I had the biggest surprise ever! My in-laws came to Florida and my father-in-law was awesome enough to haul the RK down to me!!!
So here it sits. They even took it to the dealership and got a full run thru. It was kinda pricey but I was thankful they did. I am perfectly capable of doing anything mechanical but my time has been more valuable in most cases so that's what means the most to me. The paper work is outta date on it and since I've waited 10 years, I'm pretty sure I can wait a little while longer to get it on the road. For now, the detailing has commenced!
Thank you, it certainly has. I road it around the neighborhood a few times. It rides just as it did 10 years ago! As of now, I'm going to rebuild the back brakes, service the forks, and put a new belt on it. It only has 12,600 miles but it's been sitting for a long time so I want to take care of all the preventative maintenance. The dealership did all the fluids, new battery, and carb clean/rebuild.
Thank you and thanks again.

Appreciate it!
Thanks! You don't see this color very often, but it shines real nice down here in the FL sun!
Thanks...will do!
