Default 2007 Ultra classic MPG

Last August I bought a 2007 Ultra classic that had been converted to a 103. Bike runs strong, but Im only getting 27 mpg, I see people claiming up to 40mpg. Any thoughts?

I have 1 with screaming eagle intake , thunder header & TTS master tune and usually get around 40-44. But we rode to sturgis and we're hauling *** with a head wind and was getting around 28

I owned a 2007 E/glide from new for 2+ yrs. I had Rush 2" baffle slipons, stage 1 A/F and a pair of XIED's. Riding 2 up on 2 lanes 50-65 mph and using pure gas, 48-52 mpg. 48mpg was common and 52 mpg was riding easy. If I used ethynol it would drop to 44-45 mpg. It ran hotter with less power.

A buddy of mine has an 07 EG Classic. Completely stock except for some SE slipons. He gets 40-45 regularly as I do on my 06 EG.

It's running way too rich. You should get at least 160 miles before the gas light comes on. Do you have any kind of tuner on it? My 07 ultra could go 200 miles on a tank though I'd be on fumes, 180 was always doable, usually filled up at 160+. Put cams in it (and a Power Vision tuner) and got a tune from fuel moto and gas light would come on at 130-135. Did some auto tunes and mileage went right back up where it used to be, plus bike runs better. So what kind of tuner is on it?

Sounds low. Could be a combination of contributing factors. Like some have said you are probably running rich. Could also be riding style if you're getting on it real hard on a regular basis. I also see you're in Wyoming so if the terrain is really hilly and you're doing a lot of climbing that could be a factor as well. I have a 103 with a stage 1 and am getting an average of 40 riding two up.
