Two weeks ago had the compensator sprocket replaced on my 13 Limited
with 13, 550 miles on the clock. Bike had the dreaded knock when shut off.
The dealer installed the new 14 SE version with the glue on spout/oiler under warranty.
All was well for 500 miles -no clunk. Yesterday shut the bike off and , wait for it- clunk. Today I noticed a few new noises coming from the primary, a whine, and intermitent clunks when the clutch is engaged and disengaged and when the throttle is reved and released.
Anyone else experience this with the new and improved version? Sorry for the lenghty post- any thoughts are appreciated.

Stopped by my dealer this afternoon after work and explained the issue
to the service manager. Before I got the words out, he said It clunks
and makes more noise than before the upgraded fix. YES, but they do not have a better solution. Guess I'll ride her till she blows, it's still under warranty.
Late in the season last year, I had mine on my 2012 replaced with the 2014 version. I'm starting to get the same clunking, rattling sound again on cold start up. Dealer said I'm going to have to live with it until she blows. I have warranty until 2017. If it gets too bad I'll have to really complain.
I installed the original SE comp some 50k KM ago (30k miles). It started the clunk on shut down and hot start. Took it apart, looked good so I put one of the original comp springs in between the two larger ones as a spacer. clunk gone, good to go another ???
fyi I changed my compensator on my 2011 flhx and was not happy at all with gluing in that plastic part, and was going to eventually get a used 2014 take off primary where it was added to the cast. Instead I got the new 2014 and just removed the primary for powder coating and took a couple pictures of the newly casted cover.
I glued in the plastic funnel, as per instructions, on my bike without a problem. I used the glue from Harley, which is nothing but Maxlok MX/T6 which is available commercially. When it dries it is as hard as a rock, harder than the plastic and as hard as the aluminum. It ain't going nowhere as long as you follow the instructions and put the glue on as pictured in the instructions, use a clamp on it for a few hours and had cleaned surfaces going in. The funnel does not touch the compensator and is under virtually no pressure so there is no danger of it breaking off. That part is a non issue except in **** retentive personalities. Why anyone would install the '14 comp without the funnel or proper cover is completely beyond me, unless they like a galled and scored compensator hub.
What is an issue is I do get a small clunk on cold start and you can hear some low rattling until warm from the primary. I stopped worrying about it and ride. I don't get any banging if I accidentally lug it and its fine hot.
I have a 2009 Ultra with 60,000 miles and have had no Compensator issues, YET. I also have a 1984 FXRS with over 100,000 miles on it. I have rebuilt the engine 3 times on the FX but never changed the stock compensator. My 84 FX has a dry primary with minimal lubrication for the clutch and compensator and has gone all those miles. Why is HD having so much trouble getting this compensator problem resolved. I guess that is why my best riding buddy for many years finally gave up the HD last week for a BMW K-1600.
