I am wanting to change the rear belt on a 94 FLh .Does anyone know if it's necessary to remove primary or can you just pull the swing arm loose and snake belt back through houseing
Ditto! Mike, do you know what the chain slack should be adjusted to for a chain drive? Im working on bike that has a chain and im not sure if its the same as the old dirt bikes we use to ride.
Chains are just SO last century! I haven't owned a bike with an exposed chain for over thirty years and don't plan doing so ever again.
However the entire primary and secondary does indeed have to come off to replace the belt. IMHO that is the sort of job it is worth taking to an indy - with the right tools and expertise he can do it a darned sight quicker than a novice - unless you want the experience of doing it yourself! You will need a few special tools.
