I am trying to troubleshoot about my incident so it wont happened again.
How about....Pay attention.

Considering how close you came to not ever having to worry about product quality again....I would think that this is the least of your problems.

That drivers "credentials" are the ONLY reason, you're still alive today....You ought to be glad that someone was paying attention and knew how to react to the imbecile on the motorcycle that was not paying attention.

You carry passengers?
I hope they have life insurance.

They're giving you the "run around" because they don't owe you a damned thing.
You ran into the truck because YOU weren't paying attention to the traffic around you.
I am a Retired Teamster, Big Rigs have a lot of blind spots, I always pass a truck as fast as I can.
Never pass a truck on the right side of it, pass the Big Rig and go on, or stay well behind it
then pass it on the left side when it is safe to do so. Mostly stay away from Big Rigs.
I was nearly killed by a big rig in my early 20's. To this day, I do not trust them and won't ride anywhere near them. I pass them on the left and get the hell out of there!!!!!
How did they list you on the accident report? Driver #1 or #2? They almost always assign the #2 spot to the person who is at fault. Why are you driving without insurance and what state wouldnt require at least liability insurance?
Glad you're OK, but maybe you should quit riding if you can let a big rig sneak up on you and hit your saddlebag. I can't imagine how that is even possible.
Hmmmm......that's a shame. Even in Chicago one needs only to head in one direction for an hour to find himself among the corn. Either way, stay focused. Merging onto a freeway is no time to be distracted.
Just as long as you don't head east. You might get a little wet! ;-)
Washington - not required on motorcycles, dumb but legal.
So what youre saying is anyone from a state that has insurance, and gets in an accident caused by an uninsured but legal Wash state driver, the insured guys "uninsured motorists" policy will pay for all the damages and injuries? Something doesn't sound right (not that I doubt what youre saying is not true) but that leaves all the people that have insurance to pay for the dumb bastards that choose not to have insurance? WTF!

Not sure about that but probably so. But anyone without coverage and leaves the state on their bike - they break the law the moment the cross the line.
I'm guessing some of you who are calling BS have never seen these:
I drive a big rig for a living and it is very possible that the driver never saw OP. That part of the truck is a huge blind spot for us if we don't have a mirror attached to the hood at that corner. You can also see how the OP may not have seen the big rig in his peripheral vision.
OP admitted himself that he was distracted which could have killed him. If this happened to me, I don't think it would stop me from riding. I have tons of close calls, tho none this severe yet *knock on wood*, but I use it as a learning experience and make sure it never happens again.
and as a fellow trucker, you should point out, that 99.999999 % of those "spikes" you posted...are made of plastic...(there are some people that take the money and time to have them made out of aluminum)
