Good morning. My husband and I just purchased a 2008 Street Glide that does not have cruise control. The cruise control lamp has been flashing and the idle is at 1500 rpms. Any clue at what can be causing this? We're scheduled to take it on vacation and don't like what it's doing.

If you have the owners manual, check the section for EITMS (Engine Idle Temperature Management System). It may be set to "ON"...BTW, Live right down the road from you. AL
The early 08's had a problem with the idle that was corrected with a ecm recalibration. You can also reset the idle back to the correct 1000 rpm by cycling the ignition switch 4 times.
This was beat to death back in 08 evidently the previous owner never had the update done. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...high-idle.html
