Default Passing Lamp Recommendations

I've been doing alot of riding out in the backwoods of Connecticut. Found myself driving home this weekend around 10PM. One of the big issues is they're aren't any street lights. My current set up is sufficient, but in typical HD fashion I want / need more.

My current set up is Truck light P7, Dynamic Rings, and HD foglamps w/ led conversion. (The Rings & foglamps do nothing). Considering passing lamps but equally important is I want it all to match. Hense the LED conversion on the fog lamps.

How are the Truck light passing lamps? Can I keep my Dynamic rings w/ bullet turn signals. If I get the HD set up I know I can keep the bullets but what bulb will match my TLP7 headlight.

09 Street Glide.

Don't think I can keep my bullet turn signals with them? Looks like the lollipop set up with the towel bar which I hate.

What type of bulb do the HD ones use? Part number 69818-06.

Trot you down to your local Car Quest, NAPA, or other mom and pop auto parts store and pick you up a couple of Wagner part number 4509 100 watt aircraft landing light bulbs. Probably cost you between $25 and $30 each, I'm guessing that's less than what the local dealership will nick you for a pathetic little 50 watt bulbs.

Wire them in with a Bosch relay, and I'd suggest rewiring the spotlight switch to work independent of the headlights...a simple 'on' or 'off' will work fine, because you don't want those things coming on accidentally! They WILL turn night into day.

Being in SoCal, it's not often that there aren't other drivers on the roads, even in the early morning hours, and you WILL blind oncoming traffic with these things...but if you're looking for something that will really, and I do mean really, light up the road, these are them! I've been using these bulbs for over 35 years on my motorcycles and other equipment. They are VERY effective for lane splitting...and can be actually annoying, which works in our favor, I reckon.

I was going down a deserted road last evening with a friend, came up alongside, and fire those puppies up...I think a bush along the road burst into flame!

Anyway, if you're looking for bright, nothing better...you'll have to put a couple of ring connectors on the wires. No, I have no wiring diagram, anybody whose competent with vehicle wiring will be able to easily figure out how to wire these in, and there are a number of interweb sources for wiring the Bosch relay.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: There are internet sources, Amazon for one, that lists these bulbs for under $8.00 apiece...can't beat that.

This kit will let you keep Dynamic Ringz plus add passing lamps of your choice with no towel bar.

I figured that would be the way. Sounds like I'll also need the actual bullets.

What about matching them up to look the same as my TLP7?

That's a lot of cake!

Yep some bucks...... I bought a used bar in classifeds that came with bullet signals & passing lamps. I know your're LED fan but with the GE 881's the side peripheral vision was outstanding at night IMO. With issues around the LED headlamps viewed at angle in daytime beiing not so great some passing lamps with Silverstars etc. may be good option.

If you buy the bulbs on Amazon, along with the relay, my way will cost you only $25.00, and I suspect you won't find anything brighter...of course, they are not trendy or hip...just effective as hell.
