Dumb mistake, we all make them at least this one wasn't harmful. I understand the red didnt stand out to ya lmao. Gotta have a laugh at it. I agree the van backed into you story
Glad your ok, I did that many years ago in a construction zone, the car in front takes off then slams on the breaks. It was a SUV so I couldn't see in front of it (I was too close) and slam like a bug on the back of his truck.
On my old bike, I had a Purple heart box truck do the same thing to me. Light turned green two cars and then me waited due to a cop going to another accident a mile down the road. Purple heart truck driver saw green light and hit the gas. Then hit me and shoved me into the back of a F-150. Had the bike for 5 weeks at that time. Was shaken to say the least but survived and they paid to get it fixed. Stuff happens...
1. I agree that the RED sticks out, but the mistake was ASSUMING they pulled out in the jumbo jet sized break in traffic before throttling up and dumping the clutch, I was looking back at the oncoming car WHILE moving forward, once again, lesson learned
2. Not hurt, well besides the pride. Dumped it after hitting as the wheel was at a funny angle and I was definitely not ready for the sudden stop. My feet were still going up to the floor boards and had barely started to pull on the brake when I hit her
3. I agree with the assessment of her backing into me, that is what I SHOULD have led with when the cop got there, but truth be told the lady was already in tears by the time she got out. Not hurt, just apparently terrified that a 'biker' hit her. I must look terrifying in my blue jeans, boots and tshirt!
I'm really glad you're ok but why the heck is that bike still laying on it's side for?
I would have picked her up and told her I'm sorry before getting my social media device out to take pictures at her worst that you will no doubt share on the internet and facebook...
After 10 years of riding, finally had an accident and it HAD to be the Harley...
Sorry but I have to ask..... How long did you let it lay on the ground taking pictures of it? If it was her fault I understand documenting it hit the ground but otherwise I'd pick it right up.
I just watched a guy do the same thing the other day except he locked up the rear and high sided it flying into the back of her car.
