Dakota digital gauges cause security system problem?
Just installed the full gauge kit on my 2011 CVO Road Glide and noticed that I no longer get the "enter pin" message when turning on the ignition without the fob being present, it now turns on like normal and the alarm begins to chirp. Anyone have this issue? Any recommendations on how to resolve this problem? Does this mean I can no longer bypass my security if I lose a key or the fob battery is dead?
Isn't that how it supposed to work? No FOB(or dead battery) - turn ignition - alarm sounds.
If you want to use the bypass code you push the two signal buttons immediately after turning the ignition and follow the procedure in your manual or on your wallet card.
on a 2011, you shouldn't get the enter pin prompt at start up. you shouldn't get that unless you are depressing both the left and right turn signal at the same time.
i understand that the newer 2014, and 2015 infotainment systems will give you that prompt if you try to start without a fob though.
