the fake strap covering the tour pack latch is a little too short and will not stay tucked in. I don't like the way it looks hanging loose. Anyone have a solution?

Reason: fix link
I like the magnetic idea. Use a small earth magnetic, rough it up with a flat file, paint it with metal paint, and glue it to the inside of the bag, then do the same for the strap or use a metal washer if the bag is thin enough for it to stick.
the buckle on the strap is the upper mount for the latch, cant loose it unless i had another latch. i like the mag idea. loosing the strap would look better (bags have no strap) but need ideas for latch
Not sure what you put in the bags and I assume you'd use a weak magentic, still, I'll note that magnets can cause trouble with strips on bank cards and smartphones. I'd take it to a leather shop.
