Will these retro-fit to older bikes?

2 things to consider without seeing them. 1) Is there space for them 2)how to they attach?

You can see in the picture that there are two raised bungs/nipples on the floorboard which appear to be threaded to accept two screws that hold it in place. I'm hoping the engineers thought ahead and that my boards on my 14 Streetglide have these already or else it looks like I'll have to buy new boards.

Regardless if our floorboards are threaded or not will they physically fit meaning is there a spot for them underneath ours. If so you could drill and tap our boards for a fine machine thread but you will only have a few threads to grab which might not be enough if you are dragging these things. You might also be able to get a very thin nut underneath the foot pad to secure them.

I need to go look at my 14 and see one of these at the dealer. I called around yesterday and nobody had a Low in stock yet.

I got a gremlin bell tight to the bottom of each floorboard. You can hear them on a tight turn and they have some grind down on both. First time I heard the bell sound I was like what the heck is that?

Years ago on my 1974 FLH i was scraping the footboards like crazy. I removed the footboards and welded a nut on the bottom to thread a carriage head bolt to for a sacrificial hung of metal.

It threw a huge rooster tail of sparks !! Then a fellow riding buddy made me some out of an alloy that really threw sparks like crazy in different colors, it was pretty cool and fun as well.

I saw them on a '15 Limited Low earlier today. If you look at these photos, you can see the two nuts between the rubber footboard and the footboard pan. My '14 SGS does not have these two mounting holes on the footboard pan.

I might get flamed but.....if I'm cornering hard I have the tendency to hang the toe of my boot over the floorboard....when I feel the bottom sole start to slightly rub I know I'm getting real close. I'm no cornering my Ultra like a sport bike but in the hills it can still be fun. Not like I'm rubbing soles every corner

I went through a lot of shoes doing that until I saw my friends foot get sucked off his bike and he went down in a corner. Now I just drag the boards and brackets sometimes which I'd like to avoid.

Hell, I thought footboards were replaceable "wear items" like tires, brake pads, etc...
