I don't care about my boards either BUT I'm not a big fan of having my brackets making contact. They don't have any give and my rear end has gotten squirrely a few times because of it.

I had one of these Harley Foot Board Heel Guards on my bike and on a corner touch down it made contact and a nice big dent in my custom exhaust head pipe shield when the board folded upwards. Id have preferred the touch down indicator to my exhaust. I'll be looking into one

If I'm thinking out loud, say you have a style of riding where you touch floorboards regularly, and you install these thingys. Do you adjust you're style of riding or the first time you drag one of these it startles the rider and he brakes or lifts up a little and goes off the road. I used to drag regularly but adjusted the way I corner because floorboards are not what I consider a wear item. I will occasionally touch (couple times a year) but I ride a touring bike not a sport bike. I did hit the mount one time in a 15mph corner, bounced the rear tire off the ground, puckered to the point I never did that again.

I ride my touring bike like a touring bike. However, we have so many mountainous switch backs in Vermont, that you cannot avoid dragging a foot board from time to time because of the rise in the road on so many of these. Nature of the beast and no matter how often it happens or how long I've been riding, it still occasionally causes a pucker factor.

...it's how hard you go into that curb, at what speed, and how much you lean. Some ppl just lean harder than others----while u may not drag in your picture...I can take your bike, go in "hotter" on the same line and lean alot more and drag parts.

I have a buddy with 13 RK.....he and I used to ride crotch rockets together....he has a love affair for curves and drags the actual floor board brackets...it's not because he chose the wrong line and didn't lean.........it's because he can go in "hot" and lean hard.

I'm the same way. Only thing that sucks about dragging the bracket is that it can push you off your line, or even lever your rear tire off the ground if you hit a dip in the road. Pucker factor lol...
