If it's the HD ESP contract with a revision date of 08/13 look on page 2 section B: coverage details item 2 details the tire and wheel coverage, item 3. Expense reimbursement coverage details what expenses are covered. A. is rental reimbursement, B is breakdown or road hazard, C is Travel and lodging reimbursement.

Okay... I think I have it now. I found the breakdown reimbursement clause in the ESP contract... so that's good. What was confusing me is that it doesn't talk about roadside service. However, as someone suggested, I found the roadside assistance number on the back of the HOG card.

So... if you breakdown, you call the number on the back of the HOG card... then file for reimbursement of other towing, rental, repair costs under the ESP protection... right?

I'm kind of embarrassed that I didn't understand the process before paying for all this stuff. I guess I was still in a daze from buying my new scooter!

Thanks,

Ron

My dealer said to call them if within 75 miles, if traveling during business hours to call the nearest HD dealer and let them pick me up or arrange for a tow. If after hours to call the TN on the card. I have attached pictures of the card the dealer should have given you. I covered up the part with my contract number.

The emergency number is on the back of the HOG membership card.

I have the AAA RV+ coverage, and have used it once. I had excellent service with them. I recommended it to a buddy and about 2 months after he signed up he had to call them. Also excellent service. Both times they came out with a flat bed with a special dolly designed for hauling a bike.

His bike, after a very close call with a blow out.

Their policy is a tow to the nearest dealer, not to your house. Since the dealer was closed they would hold it someplace overnight.

I ended up canceling the hog roadside assistance after I had to pay for my own tow that night.
I have A A A RV plus now.
Had a similar experience. About 75 miles from home around 4pm and had issue requiring a pickup.
HOG said the dealer would be closed by the time my bike arrived and it turned into a big hassle.
Used my backup, AAA+RV to deliver to my home.
Cancelled HOG and went with AAA+RV exclusively , used it once since then with no issues.

Used Foremost Insurance roadside assistance in July. The level of incompetence was stunning - I was stranded 7 hours. The first towing service they gave me didn't tow motorcycles. The second towing service arrived and the driver was not aware he was towing a bike. He did not have the necessary equipment. The next day I added RV coverage to my automobile AAA policy for $49.

My AMA (not AAA) membership is up for renewal, and if you re-up for 3 years you can get towing assistance thrown in.

I was wondering if anyone actually has used the roadside assistance offered by AMA, and if you did -- how was it?

Default roadside assistance

As a new owner, this has certainly been something on my mind.

"What do I do if I break down"??

I did not buy from the dealership so got no free memberships or anything like that.

Insurance is with State Farm and comes with no form of roadside....

so.........

I dunno??????
