Default Battery

Still have the original battery in my 2000 Ultra (love that Battery Minder with the desulfation pulse), but planning on getting a replacement before my ride to Myrtle Beach. Did the requisite search and only found some threads on Wal Mart and Odyssey batteries. What's a good replacement? Die Hard, Odyssey?? who makes the Harley Battery? Anyone know?

The OEM Harley battery is pretty good and lasts. About seven years ago, I was on the road and my battery crapped out. Autozone had one named MagnaPower...it was only $69 with a three year warranty. It lasted five years and I was satisfied.

I liked their warranty and Autozones are usually plentiful along the highway. If it is under warranty still.....Any Autozone will accept the warranty. HD dealers are not that plentiful and are not open seven days a week. My nearest HD dealership is over an hour away...Autozone is five minutes away and damn near everywhere anymore.

After going through 3 "Harley Davidson" brand batteries in 7 years (made for Harley by Interstate) I bought a Yuasa Yumicron. That one lasted me 6 years.

The original battery in my 95 Ultra lasted 10 yrs with it being on a Battery tender. $s per year works out really great. Don't know who makes the HD, but i bought another HD. I won't complain about that!!

Which battery tender has this desulfation pulse??? My father in law has a tender that he keeps alternating between our two bikes all winter long; which I'm sure is why my stock 01 battery is still cranking over my 10.6 compression motor easily.

When this battery goes out on me, you can bet I'll buy another HD battery as well as this one has treated me.
