Has anyone got a set of these yet? The look pretty nice and sounds good in the video but as always - hard to get a good idea of the true sound on video.
Jamie - are there now or will there be open end caps for these?
The other thing that always gets me about these videos and muffler sound bytes on vendor sites is what header pipe are the mufflers running on? As we know, cat vs. non-cat makes a difference.
You're probably correct but I thought the same thing when listening to sound bytes on S&S's site. A call to their tech support informed me that no, they were on stock Harley catted header pipes.
The E-Series mufflers in the video above were on our 14 FLHTK with a Jackpot 2/1/2 head pipe. We will be doing a range of videos with the E-Series mufflers starting this week with dyno and actual dB result on our stock 2015 Road Glide, we will test them with the stock head pipe with various disc combination as well as the 2/1/2.
We just started shipping these mufflers and feedback so far has been awesome, more info to come...

When I called S&S they told me they were tested with their head pipe not stock.

Stainless steel Open end caps are included with each E-Series muffler and we also offer billet end caps as well, essentially all you need to do is remove the blank disk behind the elliptical end cap to make them open. To take advantage of the benefits of this system we do however recommend running with closed caps, these mufflers are very different than other tunable disk systems that are currently on the market, the E-Series Discs themselves flow significantly more and the inner baffle design is also completely different. To give you an idea on how well they flow we currently have a set of E-Series mufflers on our FLHX with the FM120R street/strip motor making 160+Hp with closed caps, 13 Discs and our XXX head pipe. We tested dozens of exhaust combinations and this setup gave us the best peak power with the best overall curve.
