You can try, but the panhard rod sits pretty hi up in front of the lower trunk. I guess if you have long skinny arms that would work.

That panhard rod does have a habit of wearing out the rod ends. But the good news is you can get new ones from a bearing house instead of MOCO.

NO, after a lifetime of pulling on wrenches and come a longs, I wouldn't exactly say that I've got skinny arms. I'll probably pull the body off.

I wonder if the rod ends that I could get from a bearing supplier would be any better quality than the ones that H-D put on the bike as original equipment.

You may or may not need to replace the joints. They are supposed to pivot but not have any slack or looseness. I caught mine early enough to get by by just greasing them real good.

Duct tape and WD-40 will fix anything.

LOL Whatever you do don't use WD-40 or you'll be pulling the body off again in 6 months. I know screwball was just joking but just a word of caution re lubricants.

There was a service bulletin about this. Bulletin # M-1339 applies to all 2009 -2013 Trikes built before Feb. 02, 1013
They will replace the rotors and pads. It happened on my EARLY 2013. The dealer replaced the rotors with part # 83425-09B and the pads with part # 83911-09B
Not a single squeak since then. No charge. (Really should have been a recall, but the MOCO is hoping that people won't complain). I can scan the service bulletin for you, but I don't know how to get a scanned image to post here. You can send me an email at
tsw555@verizon.net if you want a copy. Remember you have to inform the dealer about the squeak and this service bulletin. Good Luck!!

Sorry for the above post; I didn't read good enough. It is apparently NOT a brake squeak.
But.... the info is good for anyone having brake squeal problems.

A lot of time you can find something a little better quality than what HD installs, HD sources a lot of parts from the cheapest supplier, not always the best quality.
