We made it out to Oregon. Had lunch at Mo's in Lincoln City on Rt. 101 yesterday, so now we will make an about face and start heading east toward the rally. Stopping at Yellowstone for a few days. Looking forward to the rally before turning back south.

For anyone that has attended the rally, this is probably a stupid question, but where is the "Deadwood Event Complex" where you go and pick up your packet when arriving? I figure if I get that far I can find out where "Trike Central" and "3 Wheel Central" and all the other meeting places they talk about in the revised schedule.

I kind of thought it had to be the First Gold Casino but it didn't really say that.

Trike Central is straight across the street from The First Gold.

The rally is winding down. We had a great week and are really glad we attended. A huge thanks to the Legion Riders who lead the first few rides and tried to keep everyone safe. Even though we aren't fans of big groups rides we had planned on making all or most of them for this rally. However, after the first couple just couldn't do another one.

One of the early rides took us on the interstate for just a short distance. Don't know what happen because we were toward the back, but instead of everyone staying in line and in the right lane some decided to start changing lanes. Several bikes, including me, were forced to slow down to less than 25mph with traffic slamming on their brakes behind us. Later we witnessed a Slingshot decide he didn't like his position in the group so he began passing which created a yo-yo effect for everyone behind him.

Our opinion was that when you have over a 100 bikes riding in a group it only takes a handful of inexperienced riders or stupid riders to make it unsafe for everyone. We were following a group of 3 (non-Harley) on the last ride that thought it was a good idea to hang back a little on straight aways and then speed up on the curves, which of course created more and more of the yo yo effect behind them in the twisties.

Again, the Legion Riders did an unbelievable job escorting the large groups, blocking intersections, and trying to keep things going. IMHO a few ruined it for the rest. There were only one or two vendors we found worthwhile. Actually had one pin stripe my bike. However, a couple others didn't even have anything remotely to do with motorcycles, let alone 3 wheelers. A couple of the other things that were listed in the schedule "fell through" early on in the rally.

We meet a lot of good folks and ended up doing all the rides with two other couples (self guided). Put a ton of miles on and really enjoyed this part of SD.

We probably would not attend another rally but we certainly will return to this part of SD for more riding in the future.
