I don't know how high you can go, but I expect the higher they are may not give the handling you want. Push/pull vs leaning as mentioned above. I went 2+2 pushed up as far as possible, the grips are straight back of the speakers. I like it but I did notice a lot more wind on my hands. No biggy except riding in colder weather, if that would be an issue for you.
Just a quick note . I had KST 12inch bars installed on my 2021 Tri glide . they had to change the clutch cable . just over $130 Canadian dollars . Cheaper then adding the extension kit available .
Thanks everyone. I guess my original post was a bit misleading. I’m not looking to go super high, was just trying to get a feel as to which bars would work without needing cable extensions. I really like these in either 10” or 12” . Anyone using this type of bar on a tri-glide? https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/...ring-1986-2018
I’m only 5’6” . I just really like the looks of the yaffe bars. It would be a switch more for looks than actual function. The stock bars seem comfortable so maybe I’d just replace with 8” yaffe bars.
Apes on anything besides a chopper screams wanna be. I have them on my fatboy, and will have them on my tri I ordered. Has to do with back/shoulder pain, don't care what someone calls it. Don't like it, don't do it.
I'm 5'6" and I installed a set of 10" Yaffe black apes on my TG and now my hands are level with my shoulders which makes it more ergonomic and comfortable for the hands and wrists.
I have an Avon Cobra Chrome front trike tire, and the push/pull steering is really great on the trike.
I just purchased a 2017 tri glide and I’m wondering how tall I can go over stock on apes without cable issues. Thanx
I installed 12" LA Choppers on mine, with out a cable change, and I LOVE them.
Had to cut a few plastic ties under tank and pull excess cable up, but plenty of cable there.
It makes it so much easier to turn and really helped with my back, not sore any longer.
Anyone that tells you it makes no sense, (or even stupider answers) just does not ride a trike.
I have a 2020 and have 25,000 miles on it, with riding weather about 6 months a year.
LOVE this bike.
I also have a Ultra Classic with a 120R, and I ride my trike much more.
