I just purchased a 2017 tri glide and I’m wondering how tall I can go over stock on apes without cable issues. Thanx
If you are trying to add new bars without having to purchase a whole net set of cables, have you considered FBI EZ Bars that use an extension to your existing cables?
Just keep in mind that you don't want to go to high as the handling of your trike requires the "pushing and pulling" of the bars for steering as opposed to the "leaning" used to steer a two-wheeled machine.
I went with the fully adjustable Heli-bars on my '18 Tri-Glide and due to the wiring being done externally the installation costs was fa less that bars requiring the internal routing of wires through the bars.
All OEM wiring and hoses were used and I had heated grips installed at the time the bars were installed.
I have 14" KST bars on my 16 TRI the guy that had the bike before me put the 2+2 sweepers on and extended the hoses a little so for me it was easy. These bars are 1.5" diameter bars Stainless steel and I really like them, and contrary to what was said about the looks, that coming from a two wheeler they look just fine on a Tri.
