Since washing my 2016 Freewheeler earlier this summer I have been having problems with the glass fogging up on the inside of the speedometer. It is crystal clear when it is sitting in the garage but when I get out to ride it fogs up. Is there a way to resolve this?
There's a small round "fabric" covered vent on the rear of the Speedo housing. It's to allow air flow as the Speedo heats in the sun or cools. It probably rapidly cooled when you washed the bike drawing in some moist air. That the fog you are seeing. I've read some take the Speedo housing off and use canned dry air to gently blow into the housing through that fabric covering. The "dry" air will absorb and displace the moist air. Just be sure the canned air you buy is completely moisture free preferably an inert gas like nitrogen. Some place the desiccant containers that come with electronics or pills over the hole and let it sit for at least a day. This has to be done in a very low humidity environment to be successful.
Do you keep it in a garage? Maybe try just siting it out in the mid-day sun for a few hours, that might dry it out if there's a breeze on that vent hole.
