Project Complete: RG3 (2024) with Triglide Trunk
If you plan to use your RG3/Freewheeler fenders then you will either need to get new wheels with the corrected offset (expensive), or add the following spacer on each side. The RG3 fender projects 1.5 wider than the Tri-glide (since the body of the RG3 is 3 narrower than the Tri-Glide), therefore the wheel needs to be pushed out 1.5.
The RG3 oem wheel studs require 1/2x20 lug nuts (what comes on your bike).
You will need to purchase eight (8) short 1/2x20 lug nuts 3/4 long to fasten
the spacer to RG3 wheel studs.
The spacer studs require 12mm x 1.5 lug nuts to fasten the wheel onto the spacer
(lug nuts happen to be the same size as my 2014 Corvette Stingray which I replaced
the chrome with black nuts. So I used the orig. chrome Corvette lug nuts on my RG3)
You will need to purchase eight 12mm x 1.5 lug nuts about 1.38 long to fasten the wheel to the spacer.
Remember to torque all lug nuts to 90-100 ft-lbs.

I don't want a trike... But I think my wife's is cool as ****. And the RG3... I honestly think they are kinda bad ***... But if it was mine, I think it's bad *** because it is a stripped down freewheeler, and not the full dresser tour rig tri glide. And no, I am no fan of batwing. The frame mounted shark nose is the only way to go...
But anyhoo, who gives a crap... That's just me. You did a really nice job... And if you need the tour rig then that what you need. While it took more work and wasn't just bolt on, the RG3 fenders were a really nice touch and maintain a custom RG3 look. And big picture... A blacked out shark nose tri glide... Ya, definitely the way to go...if it was a choice. Very nice.
are also 2013/prior taken off the same bike.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
Couple of months ago I ended up directly behind an asphalt laying/smoothing truck on a country road.
Had to follow it for 1/4 mile or so. Ended up covering my new screen (for my oil cooler radiator),
with a small amount of the oily rocks sticking to the oil radiator itself..
Decided to add a "mud guard" to the front wheel fender.
change that. That's why I kept the fenders when I added Triglide body. But I ride mostly with
my HOG chapter and don't want to throw **** up on riders behind me. So this configuration
seemed to be the best compromise. Slim and black look doesn't seem to take away the look
of the RG3 fenders.
