Installed mine on Saturday, very pleased. Super clean and rock solid. One gripe, the provided bolt is allen head, very close to inner primary so I could not get anything ratcheting in there. So I had to turn it with an allen wrench, 1/8 of a turn at a time. I took the deflector off completely to insure the "hook" was secure. I also took the two bolts out of the fuse panel to move it slightly to get the plug to fit from behind the frame and to inside the side cover. 45 minute job, good product.

I love the look, or the absence of the dangling cable. Also put flexible conduit
But i'm just not crazy about the placement on either side.
Cause the first thing I do as I get off the bike is plug it in. And
I know, either the wire or my hands will burn.
Gotta rethink where to put one.
I had the same concern. Installed mine higher up on the heat deflector. Also put the wire in plastic conduit to protect it from heat.
