The fuel milage on my 2010 stock Triglide has been constantly been improving with time but I have not been happy with it until last night. When I first got the tirke, it started out so bad that I would not even figure MPG because I didn't want to be too disappointed with my new purchase. The heat issue was bad enough...and still is. I now have approx 5300 miles on it. Last night on the return trip from a Patriot Guard mission, riding 2-up at 55-65mph in 5th gear, we got 48 MPG! I honestly thought the fuel gauge was stuck so I stopped and visually checked the fuel and it was still almost full after several miles so I knew the gauge was correct. We continued our ride home and filled up when we got to our home town. Sure enough, it came out to 48 MPG on that tank. If ANYONE had posted something like this before last night, I would have said it was totally impossible. I can't explain it. I will just accept the blessing for that one tank. I won't be able to ride any except to and from work until Friday (<1 mile), so I won't be able to check it again until then. I will post an update after my next ride.

You certainly got lucky with that tank. Be interesting to see if it stays that way.
I am still in shock and really anxious to see what I get on the next tank also. I am planning a solo trip for Friday (Magnolia will be at work). The temps are suppose to start out around 50 with a high of 80. This high is about 10 degrees cooler than we had yesterday when we got the high mileage. I will post the results...good or bad. I wish I had done something different that I could say caused this increase. I would be the most popular person on the web with Trigliders!
You were not on any drugs or drinking when doing the math? haha Just kidding....thats great to hear...32 mpg is the best I can get with 6500 miles on it but I know I like to get on it and with the new TW6-6 cams its fun.....thanks for sharing
UPDATE...I made a short trip yesterday. The mileage dropped to 39 on this run and I was riding solo. I was also running 65-70. Even though this was a big drop from last week, it is still a lot better than what I was averaging. Due to work, it may be a while before I can really get another good ride in. I will update again when I do.
just a thought here, have you checked your distance with a gps ? i have recalibrated all my bikes using measured miles and gps, all were off in the begining. also unless you are really taking your time and fill each tank to the top of the neck or other measured level you will never get repeated results.
I have been filling the tank to the neck to help stay as accurate as possible. I have not checked the odometer with a GPS, but I have checked it by watching mileage markers on the sides of the roads I ride.
