How much header wrap will I need to wrap a set of stock head pipes on a 2012 tri glide? How far down do u wrap? Will it hurt to wrap all the way to the mufflers?
I bought a fifteen foot roll of 2" ThermoTec black on E-bay for $20 delivered & it was enough to wrap both pipes all the way to the O2 sensors (& I overlapped it an inch). I used radiator hose clamps instead of the suggested wire ties. Be sure you're out of the garage & away from the house when you start it up the first time. It's gonna smoke & stink like a burning tire for the first few miles.

Yea, I used the sealer also and it smoked and stunk to high heaven for the first 20 minutes or so, sure cool on the old right leg now though! Tried and proven, this is one of the best and cheapest cooling mods we do for rider comfort!
Had Titanium heat rap with sealer heat paint on mine this summer, pulled rear heat shield off today and rap just crumbled off in floor, also rusting my head pipe front seems okay. Will not replace, seems sentless to me.
A stupid question but I need to ask. Do you wrap the pipes without taking the chrome pipe guards off and if so, does any of the wrap show up outside of the chrome pipe guards?
