As previously posted. Do your own work, keep receipts and document work.

I have two three ring binders. Every part purchased, installation instructions and all services are recorded and protected in plastic sheets. The only things not covered are the aftermarket parts that have their own warranties. My dealership honors the warranty and the ESP, as the service manager is aware that I only make improvements. Just something to think about and all the documentation is there if you later want to sell your bike someday.

I have been here for a few days trying to get answers on fuel milage. I have seen a few of your trikes and what you have added, (headers, mufflers, cams, tuners). Has this inproved your gas milage? and is the trike covered under warranty? This may sound stupid to some of you but I am getting so many different answers from different HD dealerships.

Chainman,

I have the fuelmoto pipes and mufflers, SE air cleaner and PCV. I get between 34 and 38 MPG depending on my speed and how aggressively I'm riding. As far a warranty, my dealer has not had any problems but I suspect that if something happened on the road, that might be a different story. Mostly, it depends on the dealer. I also have a trailer hitch and have had my trike repaired under warranty at 2 dealerships. One at home and one on the road, nobody said anything.

I have always done all the scheduled maintenance on all my H.D.'s. Several have been in for warranty work over the years and never had any problem.

I make copies of the the maintenance schedule from the manual and use them for documenting all I do.
