Any feedback on reverse motor problems on Triglides? I am on my second one. 2011 model. Dealer frustrated. I very seldom use the reverse. Need some input.
seems like a lot who say they have this seldom use reverse. Now I'm just thinking out loud but I wonder if the torque from using the motor keeps it tight. And not using lets it get loose. Just a thought

My 2012 went through a period a few weeks ago where it would stick in reverse even when you tried to move forward. Only after shifting in/out of neutral and first, rocking the trike etc. would it disengage.
I just got the "our tech worked on it over an hour but can't duplicate symptoms" call today.

I feel for you mine was jumping from 1st to second some how at stops, and tech couldn't get it to happen. I left the dealership and my second stop it happened, not a big deal if you notice it but if you don't well it sucks to stall out at stops or crossing roads.
There have been a couple of posts about reverse problem. I have a 2011 and mine fell off on a trip earlier this year. Second one seems to be ok; but like you, I seldom use the reverse.
By dumb luck mine broke in the dealers lot the last time. I was there for them to check another issure, it shutdown on me three times in a short trip, coouldn't find that problem either
I use my reverse all the time. I had one go bad. The second one is still working. I have the extended warrenty and I'm going to use reverse everyday!
Yeah I use mine all the time too, but it is a little disconcerting to have it stick in reverse like that every time for two days (and make one heck of a banging noise when you finally got it disengaged and took off forward) and then they can't find anything wrong.
But I'm gonna keep on using it. It's there and by cracky I intend to use it. If it puts me down I'll just deal with it then. It's kinda like taking off the lowers. They were in the trike when I bought it and I like the looks, so they aren't coming off-although I did remove the vent doors.
Wife has no problems with hers and uses it all the time . It will pop the breaker if trying to back up too much of an incline such as on a trailer. Was an option on her '10 FLHXXX, I kinda wish I would have left it off and put on a Champion Reverse like I have on two of my other HD,s
