I washed trike last evening...wheels looked like they need a good cleaning...wow lots of cleaning was done? I only have 700 miles and these wheels seem to need a lot of attention...How do you keep yours clean and protected...stained wheels look bad and you will never get them clean once they stain?

I do them twice a year or more as needed. It doesn't take much product and I spread it on with a paper towel. Buff it off with one of their buff *****. After every couple of rides I'll hit the rims with Windex and a microfiber towel. Couple of minutes well spent, especially after a ride in the rain. The brake dust seems to cake on these trike rear wheels if left to dry.
On my 11 it was a never ending battle keeping them clean.
I have thought about pulling them and Powder coating them...but this weekend I am going to clean em, tape them off, and use some clear to stop the staining.
I did this on my rocker covers on the sporty over a year ago, and they has not yellowed, pitted or stained at all, so I'm expecting some good results.
I haven't had the opportunity to try it on my '14 yet, but I got good results on cars (you know, those 4 wheeled things) with several of the spray wheel cleaner products. They cut the brake dust and rinse off well. Anyone used these on their Tri?
I look at these things as vehicles. I spend very little time 'cleaning' anything. I wash 'em when they need it, but I figure it's a vehicle to tote my happy *** down the road, and it's GONNA get dirty. So be it!
I check the tire pressure, the shock pressure, the oil & fluids, I clutch 'er, gas 'er, drive 'er & watch 'er!
